‘Difficult to conceive’ Britain better after Brexit

It is hard to see how Brexit can improve Britain’s trading ties said outgoing Bank of England policymaker Ian McCafferty.

It is hard to see how Brexit can improve Britain’s trading ties. So said outgoing Bank of England policymaker Ian McCafferty.

While McCafferty admits that “everything is theoretically possible”, he told Sky News on August 8 that he finds it “difficult to conceive that we would end up in a better position, trade-wise, at least for a significant period”.

McCafferty is leaving his role at the end of the month.
