Hard times for LGBTQI asylum seekers in Sweden

Are LGBTQI asylum seekers facing discrimination in Sweden? According to lawyer Joakim Lundqvist, stereotypical assumptions among migration officials impede LGBTQI refugees to get asylum in Sweden.

However the Swedish Migration Authority rejected any bias in the asylum system against LGBTQI asylum seekers.

The case is not new. In 2017 there were allegations of discrimination kind cases against LGBTQI seeking asylum since the Migration Agency asked partial questions. Besides recent studies have shown a bias in the asylum seeking process Radio Sweden reports.
