Social inclusion of disadvantaged groups: MEPs to visit Košice in Slovakia

Members of the EP committee on employment and social affairs will travel to Košice in Slovakia from 3 – 5 November to meet stakeholders and visit ESF+ projects and Roma settlements.

In Košice, the members of the delegation will meet with Slovak social partners, NGOs and various stakeholders to discuss topics such as the social inclusion of potentially disadvantaged groups, outward labour migration and labour market developments.                     The delegation will visit several Roma settlements in the area. They will also look into projects to promote social inclusion and employment of disadvantaged groups that are co-financed by the European Social Fund plus (ESF +) and meet with social workers and city representatives.                                                                                                        The delegation will consist of the following MEPs:

Lucia Ďuriš Nicholsonová(Renew, SK), Chair of the EMPL committee; Miriam Lexmann (EPP, SK); Milan Brglez (S&D, SL); Manual Pizarro (S&D, PT); Monica Semedo (Renew, LU)

A press conference with the head of the EP delegation Lucia Ďuriš Nicholsonová is scheduled for Friday at 12.00 hrs. at the Yasmin Hotel at Tyršovo nábrežie 1 in Košice.
