On 16 July, the Foreign Ministers of Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine gathered in Lublin to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Lublin Triangle. During this meeting, they issued a joint statement that unequivocally condemned Russia’s aggression while reaffirming their strong support for Ukraine. The statement outlined a framework for advancing cooperation within the Lublin Triangle. The Lublin Triangle format was established following the signing of the Lublin Triangle Declaration by the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine in Lublin, Poland, on 28 July 2020.
Lithuanian Kęstutis Budrys, Polish Radosław Sikorski, and Ukrainian Andrii Sybiha emphasised the critical importance of close collaboration in the Lublin Triangle format for enhancing regional security. They highlighted the necessity of ongoing trilateral cooperation in military and defence areas. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO, which they regard as vital for the European security architecture. The ministers also expressed strong support for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union.
In their statement, the foreign ministers of the EU member states Lithuania and Poland, and Ukraine unanimously condemned over a decade of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and other violations of international humanitarian law and human rights perpetrated by Russia in Ukraine.
