Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced in Poznań that additional allied F-35 aircraft from Norway will arrive in Poland on October 6th. These aircraft will work alongside Dutch and Polish jets to enhance the security of Polish airspace over the coming weeks.

During a press conference at the Provincial Congress of the Polish People’s Party (PSL), he expressed gratitude to Poland’s allies.

The Minister stated, “We look forward to the integration of Polish F-35s into service, with the first two already in our inventory. The Royal Norwegian Air Force will support Poland’s security starting October 6th, collaborating with our pilots.”

This deployment will mark the second mission of the year, following the first operation conducted from January through the summer. Norwegian pilots will be prepared to intercept any Russian drones or aircraft that violate Polish airspace, with decisions regarding engagement resting with NATO command.

Norway’s Deputy Defence Minister Andreas Flaam emphasised that the Commander of NATO Allied Forces in Europe will determine the appropriate responses, reinforcing that NATO has significantly increased its military presence and deterrence measures along the eastern flank of the Alliance.
