Belarusian military helicopters escalate tension at the Polish-Belarusian border

It has been confirmed by the Polish Embassy in Minsk that on August 1, 2023, two Belarusian military helicopters violated Polish airspace. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus was provided with detailed information regarding the incident. The Chargé d’affairs of the Embassy of Belarus was summoned by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to the airspace violation. The incident has escalated tensions at the Polish-Belarusian border, and Poland strongly opposes this type of activity. The Polish MFA has requested that Belarus explain the incident in detail and refrain from any further provocations. The presented data contradicts the official statements made by the Republic of Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence. Poland urges Belarus to investigate the incident urgently, review its position, and cease all provocations at the border.
