Poland’s Prime Minister Beata Szydło was quick to praise her country’ strong position in global affairs.

Addressing a Foreign Policy Forum in Warsaw on November 9, Szydło attributed the success in part to Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski and Deputy Foreign Minister Konrad Szymański.

As reported by Radio Poland online, Szydło said that the government, which assumed office nearly exactly two years ago, fulfilled promises to make Poland safe, to fight for Poland’s national interests in the European Union, and to enforce Poland’s role in regional partnerships.

However, the conservative Law and Justice (PiS)-led government has locked horns with the European Commission. Poland has rejected the bloc’s migration policy and passing legislation despite criticism from Brussels.
