Ukraine is trying to arrange a visit by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. If so, it will be the first visit by the most close to Moscow and Vladimir Putin, EU and NATO leader.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna confirmed these plans in her statement to Reuters. She stated that the Hungarian and Ukrainian foreign ministers will meet on Monday and possibly discuss Orbán’s visit.

It is worth noting that the relationship between Hungary and Ukraine has been tense due to Hungary’s reluctance to provide aid to Ukraine from the EU budget. Furthermore, Hungary is sceptical about Ukraine’s aspirations to become a member of NATO and the EU.
