We expect the authorities to press ahead with the most urgent reforms, in particular in the field of economy, freedom of media, the rule of law, judiciary and the cleaning of the banking fraud scandal. These reforms will strengthen the bilateral relations with the EU and will bring tangible benefits to the people,” said ahead of the visit, Commissioner Hahn.

Commissioner Hahn will meet with the President, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Democratic Party, and with civil society representatives.

A joint press conference with Prime Minister Maia Sandu will take place in the afternoon. The Commissioner had a telephone call on Saturday, 15 June, with Prime Minister Maia Sandu.
