On 2 February, as part of the DARYA project—Dialogue and Action for Resourceful Youth in Central Asia—funded by the European Union, the European Training Foundation (ETF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of Uzbekistan and the Agency for Vocational Education, launched a three-day intensive training and peer-learning programme for Regional Centres of Vocational Excellence across Uzbekistan.

In his opening remarks, Mr Christos Marazopoulos, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan, emphasised that “Vocational Excellence is a key driver of strong and future-oriented VET systems in the European Union. This is exactly what we are working towards in Uzbekistan as part of the ongoing VET reforms.”

The training programme brings together 14 Regional Centres of Vocational Excellence from across the country. It involves centre staff, employers closely collaborating with these centres, and representatives from regional education authorities. This initiative reflects the EU’s Global Gateway approach, which aims to invest in people, skills, and quality education. The goal is to support inclusive growth, strengthen regional economies, and promote sustainable development in Uzbekistan.
