On 4 May, the Lithuanian-UAE Business Forum was held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), during which the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (LPPARA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry on the establishment of a joint Lithuanian-UAE Business Council.
Lithuanian Ambassador to the UAE Ramūnas Davidonis said that establishing a bilateral business council is an important step, which demonstrates the joint commitment of Lithuania and the UAE to further strengthen economic cooperation and to pursue common trade goals.
During the bilateral business forum, Ambassador Davidonis presented Lithuania’s economic and business environment, priority sectors for attracting direct investment and the prospects for bilateral economic cooperation between Lithuania and the UAE.
During the event, Ambassador Davidonis, together with LPPARA Vice President Zigmantas Dargevičius, met with H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Vice President of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and President of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, further activities of the Lithuanian-UAE Business Council, the promotion of investment and trade relations between the businesses of the two countries and future visits were discussed.
The Business Forum was attended by close to 100 representatives of businesses and associations from Lithuania and the UAE.
The Lithuania-UAE Business Forum was organised by LPPARA, together with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
